Intro

Welcome to the practice of Melissa Yost, nestled in the tranquil settings of Colorado. Here at Buffalo Road Therapy & Coaching LLC, our primary focus is on Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), a psychological response to a history of chronic childhood abuse or neglect. Rooted in the pioneering work of Judith Herman, M.D., author of Trauma and Recovery, this broad-based diagnosis has yet to gain full recognition in the DSM-5, though the accrued clinical evidence cannot be ignored. For too many individuals, unaddressed C-PTSD symptoms can result in serious lifelong impairment. Our compassionate, evidence-backed approach underlines the belief that you can heal from Complex Trauma & PTSD, turning the page on a difficult past and embracing a new chapter of understanding, acceptance, and growth.

As your partner on the path to recovery, Melissa is driven by her own healing journey and the inspiration derived from helping others unearth their inner strength and truth. The field is constantly advancing, with recent research in trauma and neuroscience offering promising insights into how the brain and body respond to and recover from trauma. We incorporate a repertoire of techniques deeply rooted in the mind-body connection, using a combination of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and a rich array of mindfulness and somatic practices to facilitate healing. Just as buffalo confront storms head-on to find calm quicker, our approach is to bravely face trauma, allowing the body to release its hold, and transition from mere survival to thriving. Don't let past trauma obscure your present. Take the first step towards healing and join Melissa on this transformative journey today.
