Intro

Nestled in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, lies the remarkable Klarisana Ketamine Treatment Clinic, a beacon of hope for those struggling with mental health and chronic pain conditions. Founded in 2015 by Dr. Carl J. Bonnett, MD, a seasoned emergency physician with extensive experience in using ketamine for medical purposes, Klarisana emerged from a deep desire to combat the alarming suicide rate among U.S. veterans and to provide relief for those grappling with PTSD, depression and chronic pain. Presently, Klarisana proudly stands as a founding member of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, extending its expert services to anyone in need, irrespective of their background or circumstances. Furthermore, the clinic continues to embrace groundbreaking therapies, with the launch of Colorado's first state-approved Psilocybin therapy, a significant stride in the field of mental health treatments, in 2023.

At Klarisana, delivering patient-centric care is at the heart of their practice, offering individualized treatment plans for patients aged 18 and older without the necessity of referrals. The evaluation process includes an initial discussion with the Patient Care Coordinator followed by a psychological screening conducted by licensed professionals. Patients then undergo an intake session either over the phone or in-clinic with Klarisana’s Advanced Practice Providers to truly understand their unique needs. The intramuscular ketamine treatments occur in private, monitored rooms and typically last about an hour, providing a calm and secure environment for the patients to undergo their sessions. There's also an added comfort of watching soothing nature or aquatic videos or the option to bring personal content. As for expenses, Klarisana aims to make treatments financially accessible through in-house payment plans, financing through healthcare finance direct, and participations with governmental and private insurance programs. The Colorado branch even accepts Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid), where many patients only need to cover any necessary co-pays and deductibles under their insurance policies. Klarisana’s model of self-submitting out-of-network claims also often results in higher insurance reimbursements, further easing the financial burden of their patients.
