Intro

Welcome to the professional practice of Josh Millrod, LCAT, MT-BC, based in vibrant New York. With a keen focus on employing a blend of talk, music or art, and mindfulness, I offer both in-person and remote therapy sessions that are specifically tailored to adults, adolescents, and couples. This practice is built on the belief that change is rooted in a personal journey of self-discovery. Whether you're dissatisfied with the status quo or just open to exploring new ways of being, I'm here to provide guiding support as we delve into understanding your current identity, your aspirational self, and plotting the path between the two. Overcoming your deeply ingrained thought patterns may seem like a daunting task, but together, we will untangle the knots of anxiety, depression, or past traumas to create room for a fresher perspective.

Navigating the tumultuous terrains of mental health can often leave us feeling swamped and isolated, but as your therapist and wilderness guide, I'm committed to helping you chart your path. My strategy incorporates individual and couples therapy for those grappling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and significant life changes. For suitable adult clients, this practice also includes ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and psychedelic integration services. Don't worry about the distance; our sessions can be conducted remotely for clients throughout New York State or in-person in either Merrick or Brooklyn. As a licensed creative arts therapist and board-certified music therapist, my approach is founded on a fusion of Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and psychodynamic music therapy principles. To make therapy more relatable, we can set up an initial consultation to discuss my approach and establish a mutually beneficial therapeutic alliance. This practice is not only about providing therapy, but also about fostering a relationship that will facilitate your journey towards transformation and healing.
