Intro

Welcome to Jacob ArtPractice, a sanctuary designed to create a safe space and provide an intimately caring relationship that allows you to reconnect with your inner self. Feeling stuck and overwhelmed in certain areas of life isn't unusual, but we believe that these are the very places that need compassionate attention. Through our counseling guidance, you gain the courage to face struggles head-on and restore your emotional equilibrium. We understand the invaluable role a highly trained and empathetic therapist like ours can play in your journey of self-discovery and resolution. By gently probing into parts of yourself that you've disconnected from and helping you work through unresolved issues, we facilitate your natural progression towards positive moods, self-acceptance, and healthier relationships. We recognize the difficulty of reaching out, but rest assured that seeking support is a human instinct and you are not alone.

Since 2006, our practiced psychotherapy in San Francisco has been based on a distinct approach. First, we prioritize deep active listening, giving attention to both verbal and non-verbal cues to understand your condition better. Secondly, each session combines the right balance of empathy and challenge; we offer a blend of gentle support and necessary feedback to help you break free from self-limiting behaviors. Thirdly, we commit to an experiential therapeutic process, guiding you through the process of handling difficult emotions and drawing strength and resourcefulness from within. Furthermore, we highly value mindfulness. We're convinced that a lot of our distress results from a heightened self-judgement; using proven cognitive psychology tools, we walk with you towards the practice of non-judgmental self-observation. Lastly, we use our knowledge of attachment theory, neuroscience, and human personality development to guide our therapy process. At the heart of our approach lies a strong foundation of warmth, authenticity, and empathy. While we acknowledge that life situations may eclipse our inherent state of serenity, compassion, and wisdom, our therapy offers a personalized combination of approaches that aims to uncover these natural qualities.
