Intro

With an extensive professional background in psychiatric hospitals, social services, rehabilitation homes, and county jails, Gerard Artesona has dedicated his life to implementing therapeutic techniques that personally transformed him to help others. As a therapist, Gerard is a firm believer in the inherent human drive to heal and create harmony within self and environment. In his California-based practice, he offers an empathic and supportive therapeutic environment to foster self-exploration and growth. Gerard deftly combines his years of clinical experience with his deep-seated passion for helping others, using therapeutic tools to promote a mindful and grounded state for self-reflection and growth. He works tirelessly to help his clients understand the impacts of generation trauma and to navigate the challenges that may arise from this, with a primary interest in conditions such as depression, anxiety, and a loss of purpose.

Gerard takes a unique holistic and cross-cultural approach to therapy, integrating the science of psychology with entheogenic rituals and practices. He is an alumni of Sofia University, formerly known as the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, where he earned his Masters in Counseling Psychology. Further enhancing his wide array of skills, Gerard is certified in Psychedelic Integration, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, Somatic Therapy, and Yoga Teaching. His journey towards understanding the indigenous Amazonian usage of Ayahuasca and Yaje has brought him to travel frequently across Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. Gerard’s practice is marked by dedication to resolving complex trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, existential concerns, chronic illness, and neurodivergence. Personal lived experiences of being a racial minority in a small town America, a survivor of childhood abuse, and his own entheogenic experiences at 19 years old have shaped his empathetic approach, thus providing a substantial understanding and grounding to his clients' experiences.
