Intro

Nestled within the Arizona State University Research Park in Tempe, the Arizona Ketamine Treatment and Research Institute (AKTARI) is an acclaimed medical establishment built on the foundation of providing top-tier, stigma-free ketamine treatment. Established in the year 2016, AKTARI prides itself in painting a new picture of ketamine treatment, one that is safe, effective, and respectable. It is home to thriving on-site research initiatives, with a dedicated emphasis on fostering cooperation between important pillars of the medical community including mental health providers and primary care physicians. Unlike other similar facilities, AKTARI boasts of a distinctly multidimensional medical team consisting of both a Board-Certified MD Psychiatrist, Dr. Lauro Patino, and a Board-Certified MD Anesthesiologist, Dr. Mathew Crooks.

From the moment you get in touch with AKTARI, an interesting therapeutic journey awaits. Following an initial series of registration and symptom evaluation, you commence a screening process under the expert supervision of Dr. Patino. Here, the potential effectiveness of ketamine therapy is gauged, before meeting with Dr. Crooks to assess your optimal ketamine dosage. This marks the end of your preliminary journey and the beginning of your personalized ketamine infusion sessions. Although otherwise mandatory, the screening visit can be waived if you have a referral from a psychiatrist and wish to begin immediate treatment. On the day of your treatment, remember to fast for the preceding four hours while limiting clear liquid consumption to two hours prior. Dress for comfort and arrange a ride home. At the clinic, you will be eased into a serene environment where you can engage in activities such as reading, watching a movie or simply taking a nap while the ketamine is intravenously administered over the course of 45 minutes.
